Stephanie Immordino’s
passion for music was inherited from her grandmother, a professional
pianist who first introduced Stephanie’s fingers to the keys when she
was six years old. This spark ignited an inextinguishable enthusiasm for
music, which Stephanie satisfied by pursuing violin lessons, and
eventually, a degree in violin performance.
During college, Stephanie won the
2003 Marion Philharmonic Concerto Competition in Marion, IN and
performed Bruch's Concerto in Gm with their orchestra. She was also a
substitute in the Muncie Symphony from 2004-2005.
Her arrangement of "Come Thou
Fount" for violin, viola, and piano was published in 2006 by Light Of
The World Music. That same year, she composed the background strings for
Rainy Garay's album, "One Precious Moment."
In 2008, Stephanie performed with
Glen Burtnik (former band member of The Styx) in a Beatles tribute
concert at the State Theater in New Brunswick, NJ.
Stephanie released her debut CD in
September of 2007. The songs on her CD are the few that survived the
process of writing and rewriting songs. Years of music appreciation
resulted in a fusion of Stephanie’s favorites: Diana Krall, Chicago,
Josh Groban, and J.S. Bach. An acoustic sound augments the innate
qualities of the violin and piano. The lyrics are inspired by spiritual
catharsis and reflections on personal experiences.
After releasing the CD, music was pushed onto the
backburner as Stephanie appreciated the joys and responsibilities of new
roles: wife, and later, mother. She now performs at weddings and other
special events, in addition to teaching students privately. Encouraged
by the positive reception of “Come Thou Fount,” Stephanie’s next goal
is to produce a CD of instrumental hymns.
